Medical Office Manager was founded as a newsletter for physician office administrators by Susan Crawford in 1987. In 1992, Crawford founded Ardmore Publishing Company, which continued to grow the publication and provide medical office managers throughout the United States with relevant and timely information to help them do their jobs better.
In 2013, Plain Language Media acquired Ardmore Publishing Company.
Plain Language Media continues to publish Medical Office Manager as a monthly newsletter, while expanding offerings for physician office administrators.
In 2014, Plain Language Media launched a companion website to the newsletter. Featuring regularly updated content, a library of past articles, customizable policies and tools, and more, the Medical Office Manager website provides members with immediate access to essential compliance, HR, management, and career information.
